Roberta Pedon is a mystery. It seems that her life ended tragically. Perhaps the greatest tragedy is that while our lives were graced by her for a short while we do not know what became of her. Roberta Pedon was not her name. It may have been a corruption of her father's, Robert Apedon. She was thought by some to have been foreign, but her accent was affected. She lived hard. Partied hard. And apparently because addicted to drugs. Her career was brief. She came on the scene in the early 70s and disappeared shortly thereafter. She seems to have run afoul of the law on drug and prostitution charges. It is said she died destitute and alone some time between 1982 and 1984. I pray that is all wrong. My hope is that she is out there somewhere living peacefully in retirement from the erotic arts. I choose to remember her beauty perhaps especially her innocent hippie grace and quirky smile.
